Terms

These terms govern your use of the Songweald website and the licence granted with each track. Songweald is a free library of AI-composed music. Nothing on this site is sold and no payment is required to download or use a track.

Using the site

You may browse, stream and download tracks for free. You agree not to:

  • attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site
  • scrape or bulk-download the library by automated means
  • re-upload our tracks to another music library or stock site as your own
  • use the site for anything unlawful

We may suspend or close an account that repeatedly breaks these rules.

The licence

Every track comes with a granted written licence. It allows you to download the track and use it free of charge, including in monetised videos, podcasts, streams, films and paid client work.

The licence is non-exclusive. Other people may use the same track, including in their own monetised videos. Exclusivity is not available.

You do not need to credit Songweald, though it is appreciated. You may not claim authorship of the composition, register it with a rights society, or present it as your own original work.

The licence text that comes with each download sets out the full permissions and any limits. Where this page and the licence text differ, the licence text governs.

AI-composed music and copyright

Every track is generated with AI and labelled as such. Songweald does not claim copyright over the compositions. What you receive is a granted written licence, not a transfer of ownership or an assignment of copyright.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity under your account. You can close your account at any time.

Donations

Donations are voluntary. A donation gets you nothing extra: no additional rights, no different licence and no priority. The rights are identical whether you donate £0 or £9. Donations are non-refundable except where the law requires it.

Availability

The library is provided as it is. We aim to keep it online but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and tracks may be withdrawn or replaced. We are not liable for any loss arising from the site being unavailable or a track being removed.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to £100.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the library and the licence develop. The current version is always on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
